Its trails are perfect for biking and walking. They include a four-mile network of hard-surface trails that make it easy to get around with kids in strollers or wheelchairs.
Another paved trail is the Sligo Creek Trail, which follows a creek through wooded parks and residential areas between Hyattsville and Takoma Park. It’s part of the 40-mile Anacostia Tributary Trail System.

Adventure Playground
The Adventure Playground at Wheaton Regional Park Silver Spring MD is a great place to bring the kids. It has everything from endless climbing structures to giant slides.
There is also a small kids area, ropes course and more! It’s just a little walk from Brookside Gardens too.
You can hike, bike, horseback ride, picnic, play ball, ride the train or even ice skate in this park! It is an amazing place and I can’t wait to visit again with the kids.
The main playground gets a lot of sun and it’s not enclosed so you have to watch your kids very closely when they are going down the slides. The sand pit and smaller tot play area are much shadier. More places to also visit by clicking here.
